The Business of Law: Teaching Associates About What Makes Your Firm Profitable
July 23, 2009 at 02:00PM ET
Most managing partners are well versed in the financial aspects of running a profitable law firm.
But all managing partners—and their firms—are at a distinct disadvantage if the lawyers they lead are not given a basic understanding of what makes and keeps their firms profitable; up to and including how their contributions, or lack thereof, impact the bottom line.
Informing all lawyers on these topics is important, in good times or bad. However, in today’s shaky economy, where firms of all sizes are struggling, it is imperative to promote a strong positive culture in which each lawyer—from the most senior partner to the newest associate—is conversant with the factors affecting the firm’s success and is provided with the best possible environment in which to make a significant contribution.
This timely IOMA webinar is designed to help you do just that.
Join us on July 23rd at 2PM ET, and in just 90 minutes participants will gain comprehensive understanding of:
- What aspects of the firm’s financial model do all lawyers need to understand in order to make a more effective contribution to the success of the firm?
- What should associates be taught about the business of law?
- How should firms approach associate training and career development?
- What are the elements of succession planning and when should they be employed?
- How does a firm improve its culture and provide everyone with a strong positive environment in which to succeed, free of internal strife and unnecessary stress?
