Indifference Is the Real Enemy in Battle to Protect Information

Research shows the primary security threat facing companies is shifting alongside the rise in value of information assets. Nobody accidentally wanders into a warehouse and mistakenly leaves with boxes of product, so protecting hard assets has rightly focused on defeating determined bad guys. But in a world of less tangible corporate property—ideas, code, designs, research, and customer records—the real enemy is carelessness and ignorance.
