Though it may seem a long way off, January is right around the corner. For payroll this means year-end processing and, of course, requests for duplicate Forms W-2. Yes, you haven’t even mailed them out yet. But setting up the procedures for handling duplicate form requests now will relieve you of having to do it during the hectic January-February timeframe. And experience has shown that employees always need duplicate Forms W-2, no matter how hard payroll tries to prevent it.
